Advice for PAs, AAs and doctors who supervise them

Just like doctors, physician associates (PAs) and anaesthesia associates (AAs) will need to use their own judgement to apply the principles of Good medical practice.

To help bring the standards to life, a range of PAs and AAs share below how they collaborate with colleagues, work within their competence, and give patients information in a way they can understand. To support those doctors who work with PAs and AAs we’ve also developed some advice for supervisors.

These case studies and advice for supervisors do not set new professional standards and are not intended to replace the professional standards.
