How your Annual Retention Fee has changed this year
If your annual retention fee is due this summer you may notice some changes in your bill.
That’s because earlier this year we introduced a new registration fee structure.
All doctors with an annual retention fee date of 1 April or later will pay a reduced fee of £390 instead of £425 this year.
We’ve also reduced fees for doctors joining the register for the first time. Eligible, newly qualified doctors will receive a new fixed-term discount, which could save them over £1000 across five years. Full details are available on ‘Lower Fees in 2018’.
And, we have removed the provisional registration scrutiny fee and Direct Debit instalment charges.
Paying your annual retention fee
If you’d like to change the way you pay your fees it’s important you do so before you are billed.
You can manage your account online via GMC online or contact us for assistance.
If your gross annual worldwide income is less than £32,000 you could apply for the income discount. Again, it’s best to do this before you are billed.
For more information on paying your fee see our fees and funding section.
