Apply for a Contact Centre Adviser role at the GMC

This is no ordinary call centre job. In this highly varied role, you’ll be a champion of outstanding customer service, on behalf of a unique organisation that keeps patients safe.

Contact Centre Adviser
Manchester City Centre
£20,060 + benefits
35 hours per week

The General Medical Council (GMC) helps to protect patients and improve medical education and practice in the UK by setting standards for students and doctors. We support them in achieving (and exceeding) those standards, and take action when they are not met.

As a Contact Centre Adviser, you’ll play an integral role in making sure the GMC operates effectively. We will look to you to answer calls, emails and letters about a wide variety of issues. You’ll speak to all kinds of people - from members of the public, to medical doctors and their employers. No two conversations will be the same. Always aiming to provide the best experience possible, you’ll constantly look for ways to go the extra mile and uphold our great reputation.

You don’t need call centre experience to thrive in this role. If you’re a natural listener and communicator with a real commitment to providing excellent customer service, we can provide all the training you need. It all begins with a comprehensive induction. As an organisation that is genuinely committed to its people, we’ll offer ongoing training that will really see you grow.

We’ll expect you to work a rotating shift pattern, between 8am and 6pm, with occasional Saturdays.

In return for your commitment, you’ll benefit from being part of an organisation that is genuinely committed to its people. We offer an attractive salary and benefits package including a defined contribution pension scheme, private medical insurance, health screens, interest free ticket loan and exclusive discounts. Tax saving schemes enable you to reduce the cost of childcare through our childcare voucher scheme and the cost of buying a bike through our cycle to work scheme. You’ll enjoy 25 days holiday, with the option to buy and sell annual leave.

Please note that the Assessment Centre is due to take place on Saturday 2nd December 2017 at our Manchester Offices, candidates need to be available to attend on this date.

Closing date: Midnight 19 November 2017.
