We have worked with the UK Medical Education Reference Group (UKMERG) to prioritise a small number of areas for development as credentials. The curricula of the early adopter credentials are published on our website once they are approved and move into delivery. The early adopter phase drew to a close at the end of Q2 2023.

Evaluation phase

The credentialing project has now moved into an evaluation phase, which will help inform future decisions.

It is important to note that no decision has yet been made about the development of further credentials. We are not able to consider any more curriculum submissions at present.

Funding

All four UK nations have committed to making sure there will be equitable and proportionate funding arrangements underpinning credentials where they are commissioned to develop and secure services.

Where a credential is for work in the private sector, it is likely that there will be a different funding model.

We will assess our own costs as part of the early adopter process, and consider what fees, if any, may be needed in future.
