Your privacy and confidentiality

We take a number of steps to make sure that your answers are kept confidential.

Answers to multiple choice questions

The reports we produce from your answers to multiple choice questions are aggregated and anonymised. This means that individual responses can't be identified and your answers remain confidential.

Your individual answers to multiple choice questions are only seen by our staff responsible for delivering the survey and research into medical education and training. They may also be shared with an appointed agent or research partner, under strict confidentiality agreements.

We also don't publish data where there are fewer than three respondents in your specialty or site, so responses can't be attributed to individuals. But your answers will still contribute to the overall findings for your specialty, region or country.

Free text comments

The 2020 national training survey includes two questions where you’re asked to briefly highlight your biggest concern and summarise any good practice you've experienced.

These free text comments will only be seen by our staff responsible for delivering the survey and research into medical education and training. They may also be shared with an appointed agent or research partner, under strict confidentiality agreements.

We may choose to quote some of these comments in future reports, but they will always remain anonymous. We won't publish any quotes that could be used to identify individuals.
