Quality Scrutiny Group

The outputs from our quality assurance (QA) work are extensive. To make sure our work is both consistent and transparent across the continuum of medical education and training, we set up the Quality Scrutiny Group.

The Quality Scrutiny Group provides consistent scrutiny of our quality assurance activity, identifies policy and quality trends and themes, and identifies process improvements. The Quality Scrutiny Group reports to the Director of Standards and Education.

The Quality Scrutiny Group considers our work across the four elements of the Quality Improvement Framework, including visits and checks, reports from medical schools, postgraduate deaneries and local education and training boards, and Medical Royal Colleges and Faculties, annual national training surveys, and enhanced monitoring.

The Quality Scrutiny Group meets up to four times a year. Members were recruited from our pool of associates to provide a range of expertise: lay, medical including doctors in training, and students.
