Helping doctors become reflective practitioners

New guidance for doctors and medical students on reflective practice has been produced by the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges (AoMRC), the Conference of Postgraduate Medical Deans (COPMeD), the General Medical Council (GMC) and the Medical Schools Council (MSC).

The AoMRC and COPMeD have also produced a reflective practice toolkit which includes a number of templates and examples for use alongside the guidance.

Now that this guidance has been published, the four organisations will be exploring what other advice and guidance could be developed to provide even more practical support.

We’ve also started to work with other health regulators to look at how we can develop an approach to team based reflection.
