News: Chair of OPHA is announced

Walter Merricks has been appointed the first Chair of the Office of the Health Professions Adjudicator.

The Appointments Commission has announced that Walter Merricks has been appointed the first Chair of the Office of the Health Professions Adjudicator.

Mr Merricks will be overseeing the establishment of the new independent organisation which, from 2011, will adjudicate on fitness to practise cases brought before it, initially by the GMC and subsequently by the General Optical Council.
