News: Pandemic plans

An update on the GMC's plans in the event of a pandemic.

At the time of press, the WHO pandemic alert level had been raised due to the spread of swine flu from Mexico.

The GMC has been liaising closely with the UK departments of health and, as highlighted in recent editions of GMCtoday, we have been making sure our emergency plans are in place.

Should a pandemic arise, we will have a dedicated area on the GMC website so would ask doctors to check www.gmc-uk.org regularly for up-to-date information.
