Regulating doctors, ensuring good medical practice

Seeking registered doctors to help with a review

Web News

03 Sep 2010

The GMC is looking for fully registered doctors to help with a review of one of our assessment procedures.

There have been assessment procedures for investigating poorly performing doctors for the last 12 years. The Academic Centre for Medical Education at UCL is working with the GMC to review these assessments.

To help us create a reliable and fair test, we are looking for fully registered doctors to take a written test and a 12 station OSCE. To be eligible, you must be FY2-Consultant level, and have worked in the specialty within the last year. Volunteers can only take this test once for each specialty.

All volunteers will receive feedback about their own performance.

This is a valuable insight into methods of assessment for anyone interested in this area and excellent examination practice for those about to do postgraduate exams.

Participants will receive an honorarium of £350 plus (standard class) travel expenses and lunch.
