The Fitness to Practise Panel will meet at Regent's Place, 350 Euston Road, London NW1 3JN to consider a new case of impairment by reason of misconduct and deficient professional performance.
The Fitness to Practise Panel will inquire into allegations that, Specialist Registrar in Accident and Emergency Medicine, Dr Salawati Abdul Salam's assessment of, recording of medical history and interpretation of test results in relation to a number of patients were inadequate. It is also alleged that Dr Abdul Salam did not adhere to Departmental Clinical Guidelines when discharging a child and that he did not adhere to guidelines set out for his retraining.
In accordance with Rule 41(2) of the General Medical Council (Fitness to Practise) Rules 2004, the Panel may decide to exclude the public from the proceedings or any part of the proceedings, where it considers that the circumstances of the case outweigh the public interest in holding the hearing in public.

The Fitness to Practise Panel will meet at St James's Buildings, 79 Oxford Street, Manchester, M1 6FQ to consider a new case of impairment by reason of misconduct and deficient professional performance. The Panel will inquire into the allegation that Dr Mishra, while in training as a Foundation Year 2 doctor at the South Tees NHS Trust, was excluded from the Trust in August 2008, on the basis of concerns for patient safety. Following a disciplinary hearing his post was downgraded to Foundation Year 1 doctor. Following a six week learning plan, it is alleged that he was performing poorly and his skills were deficient compared to the standard of a Foundation Year 1 doctor. It is alleged his actions and conduct were not in the best interests of the patients, not of the standard of clinical competence expected of a medical practitioner, irresponsible and risked patient safety.

The Fitness to Practise Panel will reconvene at St James's Building, 79 Oxford Street, Manchester, M1 6FQ to resume consideration of a new case of impairment by reason of misconduct and determination.
The Panel will inquire into the allegation that whilst working as a Locum Staff Grade Psychiatrist between 2003 and 2004 Dr Saadien-Raad engaged in inappropriate conduct with patients and staff.
It is further alleged that between 2006 and 2007 Dr Saadien-Raad, whilst employed as a Locum Staff Grade Psychiatrist at various NHS Primary Care Trusts, obtained £56, 340 from Mr S in a manner described as dishonest and likely to bring the medical profession into disrepute.
The panel will also inquire into the allegation that in 2006 Dr Saadien-Raad pleaded guilty to a charge of "unprofessional conduct" before the Health Professions Council of South Africa.

The Fitness to Practise Panel will meet at St James's Buildings, 79 Oxford Street, Manchester, M1 6FQ to consider a new case of impairment by reason of misconduct.
The Panel will inquire into the allegation that, whilst employed as a locum specialist in ear, nose and throat surgery in 2006, Dr Gomez-Estancona inadequately assessed and carried out surgery on two patients. It is alleged that his actions and omissions were inadequate and not of the standard to be expected of an associate specialist in ear, nose and throat surgery.

The Fitness to Practise Panel will meet at St James's Buildings, 79 Oxford Street, Manchester, M1 6FQ to consider a new case of impairment by reason of deficient professional performance.
The Panel will inquire into the allegation that, whilst employed as a GP in 2008, Dr Kumar undertook a GMC performance assessment. As a result, his performance was found to be unacceptable in seven areas and cause for concern in a further three areas. In addition, it is alleged that the Assessment Team found Dr Kumar's results in the tests of competence suggested poor knowledge and lack of basic examination skills expected of a GP. It is alleged that the team found his performance to be deficient but likely to be improved by remedial action, and that their formal opinion was that he should limit his professional practice.

The Panel will inquire into the allegation that Dr Singh, whilst employed as a GP, failed to adequately assess and record patients conditions prior to prescribing treatments. It is further alleged that Dr Singh failed to record his findings upon examination. In one instance it is alleged that Dr Singh, in a letter to the PCT, dishonestly stated that he had physically examined the patient.

The Fitness to Practise Panel will meet at St James's Buildings, 79 Oxford Street, Manchester, M1 6FQ to consider a new case of impairment by reason of misconduct and deficient professional performance.
The Panel will inquire into the allegation that a GMC assessment team found Dr Nagiub's professional performance to give rise to cause for concern in the following area: respect for patients; politeness, respect and confidentiality including respecting patients' rights to decline treatment or ask for a second opinion. It is also alleged that the assessment team concluded that Dr Nagiub had an adequate knowledge base but was unable to apply it consistently to her work as a doctor and that overall the standard of her performance had been deficient.
The Panel will inquire into the allegation that, in September 2008, Dr Nagiub's actions and omissions in her treatment of a patient's fracture were inappropriate, not in the best interests of the patient and not of a standard to be expected of a registered medical practitioner. It is also alleged that Dr Nagiub made inappropriate statements and assertions following a clinical incident report which was completed by the shift co-ordinator nurse in relation to the fracture patient.

The Fitness to Practise Panel will inquire into allegations that the conduct of Dr Anushree Thayur, a General Practitioner, in failing to physically examine four patients yet recording in their medical notes that she had and in inaccurately recording the symptoms of one patient, was inappropriate, unprofessional, not in the best interests of her patients and below the standard expected of a registered medical practitioner.

The Fitness to Practise Panel will meet at Regent's Place, 350 Euston Road, London NW1 3JN to consider a review case of impairment by reason of a determination.
The Fitness to Practise Panel will review the case of Dr Peter Robinson whose registration is subject to conditions in consequence of a Panel's direction in April 2007.
In April 2007 a Panel found proved that Dr Robinson's fitness to practise was impaired by reason of a Determination of the New South Wales Medical Board, Australia, dated 30 November 2005. The Panel imposed conditions on Dr Robinson's registration for a period of three years.

The Fitness to Practise Panel will inquire into allegations that, whilst working for an on-line pharmacy, Dr Mansukhlal Unadkat issued a prescription for Viagra without assessing the patient's condition, obtaining a medical history or arranging appropriate follow up. It is also alleged that Dr Unadkat made a note, purportedly setting out a record of a telephone conversation he had with a patient when he did not have any such contact with the patient and that Dr Unadkat wrote the prescription on headed paper from a Health Centre at which he had never practised. It is further alleged that Dr Unadkat's actions were inappropriate and not in the best interests of the patient and that his conduct was dishonest and misleading.

The Panel will inquire into the allegation that on 16 to 18 March 2008 and 10 April 2008 Dr Rafati underwent an assessment of the standard of his professional performance. It is alleged that his professional performance was unacceptable and a cause for concern in a number of areas as set out in Good Medical Practice. It is also alleged that in the Objective Structured Clinical Examinations, Dr Rafati's performance was found to be below the standard expected of a trainee Registrar General Practitioner at the end of his formal period of training.

The Fitness to Practise Panel will inquire into allegations that General Practitioner Dr Surendra Misra inappropriately invited a 14 year old patient to consent to the removal of moles, that he removed some of the moles and that the notes he kept were inadequate. It is also alleged that his actions, when attempting to insert a cannula into another patient and leaving the metal needle within the patient's arm, fell below the standard expected of a competent general practitioner and that he gave a misleading and dishonest account of his actions relating to the cannulation incident to the Patient Services Supervisor. It is further alleged that he inappropriately issued two prescriptions for a person with whom he had a close personal relationship, that he did not record the prescriptions in that person's medical notes and he did not inform their general practitioner.

The Panel will inquire into the allegation that whilst Dr Moneim was working as a GP, he made retrospective amendments or additions to 33 patient records on more than one occasion; which is alleged to be not in the best interests of the patients', not of the standard expected of a reasonably competent General Practitioner, misleading, and in 32 patients' cases dishonest. In relation to two patients it is alleged he made no record of their consultation.
It is also alleged that Dr Moneim delegated the writing of referral letters, from his consultation notes, and triaging, to non-medical staff.
It is further alleged that Dr Moneim remained at home on Saturday mornings until summoned by the reception staff, removed documents from the surgery, bullied or harassed four members of staff and took several unilateral decisions. It is alleged these actions were inappropriate, not of the standard expected of a reasonably competent General Practitioner and liable to bring the profession into disrepute.

The Fitness to Practise Panel will meet at Regent's Place, 350 Euston Road, London NW1 3JN to consider a review case of impairment by reason of deficient professional performance.
The Fitness to Practise Panel will review the case of Dr Judith Atkinson, a general practitioner, whose registration is subject to conditions until 16 April 2010 in consequence of a direction of a Panel in September 2008.
In September 2008 a Fitness to Practise Panel found proved that Dr Atkinson's fitness to practise was impaired because of her deficient professional performance by reason of a report by the National Clinical Assessment Authority in October 2004, a report from the Primary Care Trust's Quality Outcomes Framework Team in August 2005 and the results of a GMC Performance Assessment in 2006. The Panel imposed conditions on her registration for a period of 18 months.

The Fitness to Practise Panel will reconvene at Regents Place, 350 Euston Road, London NW1 3JN, to continue to consider a review case of impairment by reason of misconduct.
The Fitness to Practise Panel will review the case of Dr Karwal whose registration is suspended in consequence of a direction of a Panel in December 2009.
At a hearing in May-June 2008 a Fitness to Practise Panel found that Dr Karwal's actions were dishonest, below the standard expected of a registered medical practitioner and likely to bring the medical profession into disrepute. The Panel suspended Dr Karwal's registration for a period of twelve months.
At adjourned review hearings in June, October and December 2009 a Fitness to Practise Panel extended the suspension of Dr Karwal's registration for periods of four, three and three months respectively.
