The GMC uses cookies to make our websites work more effectively, and to help make our communications more relevant and interesting.

Like most organisations, we gather small amounts of data when you visit our websites, which are stored as ‘cookies’.

Cookies are used to make our websites work more effectively, for example  enabling us to recognise your device so you don’t have to give the same information several times during one task, or recognising that you may already have given a username and password so you don’t need to do it for every web page requested.

We also measure how many people are using services, which can be useful in making our communications more relevant and interesting.

Cookies cannot be used to identify you personally.

New regulations contained in the e-Privacy Directive (Information Commissioner's Office website) aim to protect people from inappropriate use of technology.

They put a duty on organisations to make sure people understand when information about their activity is being collected so they have the option not to proceed.

For information how to control and delete cookies plus complete information on our cookies uses on this site, read our privacy and cookies policy.
