Protecting children and young people: The responsibilities of all doctors (2012) sets out the child protection responsibilities of all doctors. The guidance includes advice on:

  • Identifying children and young people at risk of, or suffering, abuse or neglect
  • Meeting the communication needs of children, young people and parents
  • Confidentiality and sharing information
  • Child protection examinations
  • Giving evidence in court.

The guidance comes into effect 3 September 2012.
