QABME visitor recruitment and training
The QABME assessment teams are made up of a mix of medical, non-medical, Public Health and student representation.
Visitors are recruited following public advertisement and a rigorous selection process, and undertake mandatory training and ongoing appraisal.
Visitors are constituted into teams dedicated to each Medical School and supported by a dedicated Education Regional Advisor, Quality Advisor, and a Quality Officer.
The Visitor training programme is reviewed and updated annually to specifically target the needs of the QABME programme.
The programme is made up of two components - general induction to the Quality Assurance of Basic Medical Education, and a practical component.
Visitors and GMC support staff are subject to ongoing appraisal from other team members and Medical Schools, and undergo formal review on an annual basis.
For more information for current arrangements of this programme email qabme@gmc-uk.org.
