Gateways guidance: 1. Introduction

The revised Gateways guidance takes into account the implementation of the Equality Act 2010. The Equality Act does not apply to Northern Ireland. Therefore notwithstanding the Equality Act coming into force in the rest of the UK, the Disability Discrimination Act will remain in force in Northern Ireland until further notice, as will the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Order.
