Surveys resource pack
The delivery of the National Training Surveys 2010 requires a combined effort from colleges, deaneries, postgraduate centre managers and the regulator.
The following is a surveys resource pack which provides deanery and college staff with tools to help promote surveys via websites and other communications activities.
Leaflet and poster - printed versions of the leaflet and poster have been delivered to Northern Ireland postgraduate centres for distribution to trainers and trainees. Copies will be sent to postgraduate centres within the rest of the UK shortly.
PowerPoint presentation - the PowerPoint presentation can be delivered on occasions such as surgical teaching days, generic skills days or where an opportunity presents itself. The presentation includes speaker notes to accompany each of the slides. Running time is approximately 15 minutes.
We suggest this can be delivered by deanery staff, foundation programme directors, educational supervisors, directors of medical education, deputy heads of specialty schools, college tutors, postgraduate centre managers/ medical education managers or any appropriate person who has face-to-face contact with trainers or trainee doctors. Alternatively, the presentation can be posted on college, deanery or LEP websites or given as a training handout.
News item - the news item outlines the key messages of the surveys. This can be added to college, deanery or LEP websites, newsletters, e-bulletins or other communication material.
The news item includes a statement from the Chair of the Surveys Working Group, John Smith. However this can be replaced with a quote from your own dean, college president or equivalent to make the article more personal and relevant to your area, trainers and trainees.
Email template - the email template provided may be used for distribution to respondents as a reminder to complete the survey once it has launched. We suggest this is sent out on behalf of your dean or college president to strengthen the message.
Training surveys logo - the surveys logo jpeg may be added to any information relating to the National Training Surveys 2010. The logo can be resized to your needs providing the dimensions are not changed. No other amendments can be made.
Web button - the web button can be posted on college, deanery or LEP websites as a static image to promote the surveys or as an interactive link to the National Training Surveys 2010 web page at http://www.pmetbtrainingsurveys.org
