Standards for curricula and assessment systems
Revised April 2010
Standards for curricula and assessment systems (pdf) sets out standards by which all specialty including GP training curricula and assessment systems will be evaluated.
These are the standards and requirements that the GMC will hold medical Royal Colleges, Faculties and specialty associations accountable for, in accordance with the Medical Act. The Colleges, Faculties and specialty associations have responsibility and ownership of the curriculum and assessment system for each specialty and sub-specialty. Deaneries and local education providers have responsibility for the delivery of the programmes including workplace-based experience based on the approved curriculum and assessment system.
This document incorporates the previous Standards for curricula (March 2005) and Principles for an assessment system for postgraduate medical training (September 2004).
