Reports of visits to deaneries
Below is a list of all of the postgraduate medical deaneries in the UK.
The GMC and PMETB undertook a joint pilot to develop a process to quality assure the foundation programme. The pilot ran from 2005 to 2007. The pilot helped the GMC and PMETB develop the standards that deaneries have to attain in providing foundation training, and the outcomes that doctors must demonstrate in order to complete the first year of the Foundation Programme.
Six deaneries volunteered to participate in the pilot: East of Scotland, Northern Ireland, North of Scotland, Wales, Wessex and West Midlands. The recommendations in these reports are made in the context of a developmental pilot and take into account the early stage of implementation of the Foundation Programme in the UK.
