Visitor recruitment and training
The QAFP assessment teams are made up of a mix of medical, non-medical and trainee representation.
Visitors are recruited following public advertisement and a rigorous selection process, and undertake mandatory training and ongoing appraisal.
Visitors are constituted into teams dedicated to each Deanery and supported by a dedicated Education Quality Officer, and overseen by the QA Programme Manager for the course of the pilot.
The Visitor training programme for the pilot was made of four components
- general induction to the Quality Assurance of the Foundation Programme
- induction to the different structures present in the Foundation Programme across the four countries
- reviewing evidence and setting assessment objectives for 2006 and
- a practical component.
