Visitor recruitment and training

The QAFP assessment teams are made up of a mix of medical, non-medical and trainee representation.

Visitors are recruited following public advertisement and a rigorous selection process, and undertake mandatory training and ongoing appraisal.

Visitors are constituted into teams dedicated to each Deanery and supported by a dedicated Education Quality Officer, and overseen by the QA Programme Manager for the course of the pilot.

The Visitor training programme for the pilot was made of four components

  • general induction to the Quality Assurance of the Foundation Programme
  • induction to the different structures present in the Foundation Programme across the four countries
  • reviewing evidence and setting assessment objectives for 2006 and
  • a practical component.

For more information about the arrangements of this programme email qafp@gmc-uk.org.
