Curriculum and Associated Assessment System
Doctors wishing to undertake training in the specialty of neurology must first complete 2 years of Specialty Training in a Core Medical Training (CMT) programme or Acute Care Common Stem (ACCS) programme. From ST3 onwards training is specific to neurology but the training to CCT requires the completion of both core and higher approved training.
Core and higher specialty training are presented in separate curriculum documents that can be accessed by clicking the links below. The 2010 approved documentation for neurology incorporates both the specialty curriculum and blueprinted assessment system.

Specialty Curriculum
Specialty training in neurology consists of a number of elements: Core training in ST1 and ST2, followed by specialty training from ST3 onwards, and underpinned throughout by generic training (ST1 onwards). Each of these has a separate curriculum element (see links below). Acute Common Care Stem (Medicine) trainees will also follow the ACCS training manual. (pdf)
