The GMC has published the final supplementary advice for medical schools on patient and public involvement, and developing teachers and trainers.

The advice was produced in response to requests from medical schools and will help them to implement the requirements in Tomorrow's Doctors (2009) and prepare their students for clinical practice in the Foundation Programme.

The new advice is on:

  • Patient and public involvement in undergraduate medical education
  • Developing teachers and trainers in undergraduate medical education

This completes publication of the set of four documents advising medical schools on implementation of Tomorrow’s Doctors, along with advice recently published on:

  • Clinical placements for medical students
  • Assessment in undergraduate medical education

The four documents are available at Tomorrow's Doctors (2009) supplementary advice.
