The Trainee Doctor

The GMC now has one set of standards for all stages of postgraduate medical education and training, from the Foundation Programme to the award of a CCT.

The Trainee Doctor brings together the standards for all stages of postgraduate training that the GMC expects to be met by organisations that manage and deliver education and training.

We have aligned the standards of Generic standards for specialty including GP training, Standards for deaneries and The New Doctor, so that there is now one set of standards for postgraduate medical education and training from foundation to specialty, including GP training.

The guidance is aimed at postgraduate deaneries, employers, trainers, trainees and others involved in medical education and training.
