The GMC has launched a survey for doctors on what role the GMC should play in supporting a doctor’s CPD activities.

We want your views on continuing professional development!

The GMC's Education Strategy 2011-2013 includes a commitment to review our role in relation to doctors' continuing professional development (CPD).

As part of their professional standards and to meet the requirements of revalidation, doctors must stay up to date and fit to practise throughout their careers. We are now exploring how we can help doctors plan, carry out and evaluate CPD relevant to their practice. We want to promote excellence in the profession and support doctors throughout their medical careers.

As part of the review we would like to get a snap-shot of how doctors use CPD and their views on the role the GMC should play in supporting doctors' CPD activities. We have launched an informal survey for doctors to inform our thinking about what we should be doing.

You can participate in this survey at: Survey on the Role of the GMC in CPD, which will be running at least until July 2011.
