A report based on findings from student roadshows sets out what medical students think about professionalism and the challenges of the future.

Throughout 2009 and 2010 the GMC has worked in partnership with the King's Fund, Royal College of Physicians London, NHS III, Student BMJ and the University of Liverpool, to learn more about what medical students think of professionalism and the challenges they will face in the future.

A series of roadshows were held at medical schools across the UK, which provided students with the opportunity to debate various issues related to professionalism.

The report The 21st Century Doctor: Understanding the Doctors of Tomorrow (pdf) sets out the findings and identifies the key challenges for the future.
