We’ve published new information and resources as part of our recent review of health and disability in medical education and training.

In our review of health and disability we explored the challenges that disabled students and doctors in training face, and aimed to promote greater clarity and consistency about available support.

There is still more to do

In response to feedback from disabled students, we are making changes to the fitness to practise health declaration completed by final year students applying for provisional registration. The changes are due to come into effect this autumn.

We plan to review the practical procedures we require students and foundation doctors to demonstrate. This will be part of a wider review of our outcomes and practical procedures next year.

We’ll also continue to monitor health and disability as part of our responsibility for quality assuring medical education and training, and our wider commitment to fairness.
