Regulation of Health and Social Care Professionals - consultation

The Law Commission is consulting on proposed reforms to the legal frameworks for healthcare regulators including the GMC.

The consultation paper makes provisional proposals which seek to simplify and modernise the law and establish a streamlined, transparent and responsive system of regulation of health care professionals.

The proposals include questions about how the regulators oversee the quality of pre-registration and post-registration education and training.

The consultation closes on 31 May 2012.
