Web News

27 Jan 2012

The GMC is seeking medical specialists to assess training and education concerns - recruitment closes 8 February 2012.

The GMC is recruiting members to a new Responses to Concerns Assessment Team (RCAT),to assess serious and persistent training and education concerns.

These are new roles for medical specialists, created in response to a growing recognition that deaneries, medical schools, the regulator and the service must all communicate openly and work together to quickly resolve serious concerns which could affect patient or trainee safety.

Members of the team will be asked to undertake a variety of activities on behalf of the GMC, including providing advice and support to Postgraduate Deans in relation to concerns being addressed through our Responses to Concerns process, acting as observers on deanery-led visits, and scrutinising and advising on action plans.

Applications close on 8 February 2012.
