Specialty Curriculum and Associated Assessment System
Doctors wishing to undertake training in the specialty of Cardiothoracic Surgery must first complete 2 years of specialty training in a Core Surgical Training (CST) programme. From ST3 onwards training is specific to Cardiothoracic Surgery but the training to CCT requires the completion of both core and higher approved training.
