Help and guidance
This page provides some help and guidance to licensed doctors for revalidation.
Our core guidance
Our framework for appraisal and our supporting information guidance explain what we require from you as a licensed doctor and how you can successfully revalidate.
We've agreed supplementary guidance with the four UK health departments to help you understand how you can meet our requirements in the first cycle of revalidation. Your responsible officer has used this guidance to assess when you will be ready to have a recommendation made about you.
Other guidance for doctors
The medical royal colleges and faculties can also give you advice about how you can meet our requirements for revalidation. Their advice and guidance is available on their websites and will be helpful to all doctors who work in particular specialties or general practice regardless of whether or not they are members of these organisations.
