Applications for entry onto the Specialist Register and GP Register to go online

At the end of March 2011 applications for entry onto the Specialist Register or GP Register will be integrated into our existing online applications system.

This means that the following applications will be made online, rather than on a paper application form:

• Entry onto the Specialist Register with a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT)
• Entry onto the GP Register with a CCT
• Entry onto the Specialist Register with a Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR) through the combined programme
• Entry onto the GP Register with a Certificate of Eligibility for GP Registration (CEGPR) through the combined programme
• Entry onto the Specialist Register with a CESR through the specialty equivalence route
  Entry onto the GP Register with a CEGPR through the specialty equivalence route
• Full registration and entry onto the Specialist Register with a CESR
• Full registration and entry onto the GP Register with a CEGPR

This will make it easier for applicants to make their applications and easier for us, and Royal Colleges and Faculties, and any referees, to handle them.

As a result we expect to see improvements in the time it takes to process all of these applications, meaning applicants will get our decision sooner.
