General Medical Council
Regulating doctors, ensuring good medical practice
24 Feb 2011
At the end of March 2011 applications for entry onto the Specialist Register or GP Register will be integrated into our existing online applications system.
This means that the following applications will be made online, rather than on a paper application form:
This will make it easier for applicants to make their applications and easier for us, and Royal Colleges and Faculties, and any referees, to handle them.
As a result we expect to see improvements in the time it takes to process all of these applications, meaning applicants will get our decision sooner.
This work is part of a wider improvement programme that you can read about in our news article from December 2010.
If you are thinking about applying for a CCT, CESR or CEGPR in the next couple of months please, look out for further announcements of the launch of the improved online applications here in Registration News between now and the end of March 2011. If you have any questions about these changes, please contact us.
