Launching Paperless Direct Debits

Web News

11 Nov 2011

We have just launched a new paperless Direct Debit service, allowing you to set up a Direct Debit through GMC Online and over the telephone.

You no longer need to complete a paper instruction and return it to us – making Direct Debit the simplest and most cost-effective way to pay your annual fee. Together with e-billing it's all part of our drive to be more efficient in the way we run our services for you.

Manage your Direct Debit

We have also improved GMC Online allowing you to view and manage your Direct Debit, so there really is no better way to pay. You can view your Direct Debit payment plan with collection dates and amounts, current bank details and preferred payment frequency. You can change your bank account details and contact us to let us know if you want to change your payment frequency.

Spread the cost

Direct Debit allows you to spread the cost of your annual retention fee over the year. You can pay in quarterly or ten monthly instalments, or pay in one annual amount, it’s up to you. As your payments are collected automatically, your status on the Register is not put at risk from late payment.

Benefits for you

  • The easiest and quickest way to pay your annual retention fee
  • Online set up available 24 hours a day
  • Secure and hassle-free
  • More convenient - no forms and no delays
  • Avoids the risk of late payment and erasure from the Register due to non-payment

Benefits for us

  • Improved quality of service to you
  • Quicker set up and reduced processing time
  • Lower cost than other payment methods
  • Reduces our print, postage and distribution costs
  • Helps us to be a modern, customer-focused organisation
