Experience required to be released from an approved practice setting

To be released from the requirement to work in an approved practice setting you must have

Completed 12 months' UK experience in Foundation Year 2 within the last three years and have obtained a certificate of satisfactory completion of the second year of the Foundation Programme; Foundation Achievement of Competency Document (FACD)

OR

Have completed one year's UK experience within the last three years in supervised posts in the NHS (excluding Foundation Year 1 posts), each of at least three months duration and have the full support of your supervisors

OR

Have satisfactorily completed one year's UK experience in the last three years in supervised posts outside the NHS or in posts established through the Head of Department sponsorship where the posts were approved by us or met certain other criteria. The experience must have been in substantive posts or locum posts of at least three months duration, and you must have the full support of your supervisors.
