Registering as a doctor – page 2 of 14
Attending an identity check
When you have submitted your details on MyGMC, your application will be assessed. We will then email you to invite you to book an identity check at one of our offices. You must complete an identity check before your application for registration can be granted. When you attend, we will take your photograph and inspect the original documents that you provide in support of your application.
For more information about this, please see our guidance on identity checks
(opens in a new window).
More information about the documents you need to provide is set out in this guidance.
You are reading the guidance for applying for registration for nationals of countries outside the EEA and Switzerland, who hold an acceptable primary medical qualification from a medical school outside the EEA or Switzerland, and are eligible for entry in the Specialist or GP Registers. If this is not the guidance you need, click here to return to the Registration applications menu.
