Regulating doctors, ensuring good medical practice

Paying your fee - page 3 of 9

There is no fee to apply for a licence to practise. However you will need to ensure that your current year's annual retention fee (ARF) is paid up to date before submitting your application.

You will need to pay an increased annual retention fee (ARF) for being registered with a licence to practise but you will not be required to pay this until your application has been granted.

Once your application has been granted you will be sent an invoice requesting payment of the required amount. This invoice must be paid as soon as you receive it or your registration may be put at risk.

Please be aware that your ARF due date will not change and the amount you are charged will be calculated to take into account the period up to your next ARF due date.

For information on fees please see our guidance on paying your fee (opens in a new window).
