1. How to pay

When you apply online for registration with a licence to practise using MyGMC, you must pay by credit or debit card (Visa, MasterCard, Electron, Visa Delta and Solo).

If you cannot apply online or pay by credit or debit card, please contact us for advice.

2. How much to pay

With effect from 1 April 2010 the fee for full registration with a licence to practise will be £420. The fee for provisional registration with a licence to practise will be £145. Further information is set out on our fees page.

3. If you apply before 1 April 2010

If we receive your completed application before 1 April 2010, the fee payable is £410 for full registration with a licence to practise or £140 for provisional registration with a licence to practise. However, if we are unable to grant you registration, including completing an ID check, by 30 June 2010 then the new fees will apply to you. Therefore, if you are granted registration with a licence to practise on or after 1 July 2010, you will be required to pay the new fee of £420 for full registration or if applying for provisional registration you will need to pay £145.

Examples

  • We receive an application from Dr Khan on 23 March 2010. Dr Khan sends us all the documentary evidence that we ask him for on 30 April 2010, and completes an identity check at our office in London on 5 May 2010. As we are able to grant registration with a licence to practise before 30 June 2010 Dr Khan pays £410.
  • We receive an application from Dr Pierre on 13 March 2010. Dr Pierre does not send us all the evidence we require until 17 June 2010 and we are unable to grant her registration with a licence to practise (including Dr Pierre attending an identity check at our office in London) until 5 July 2010. Dr Pierre pays £420.

UK graduates

Graduates of UK universities applying for provisional or full registration that will commence after 1 April 2010 will be required to pay £145 for provisional registration with a licence to practise or £420 for full registration with a licence to practise.

4. If you apply after 1 April 2010

The new fees apply to all applications received after 1 April 2010. If you apply for full registration with a licence to practise you will need to pay £420. If you apply for provisional registration with a licence to practise you will need to pay £145.
