If you have concerns about a doctor, you should consider the following:
Raising and acting on concerns
Our Raising and acting on concerns about patient safety guidance
- gives advice on raising a concern if patients might be at risk of serious harm, and on the help and support available to doctors, and
- explains doctors’ responsibilities when colleagues or others raise concerns and how those concerns should be handled.
View the Raising concerns guidance and help tools.
Helpline for doctors
If you have concerns about patient safety you can raise them with us through our confidential helpline.
The helpline is intended to help doctors to raise serious concerns and seek advice on patient safety when they feel they are unable to do so through their employers at local level.
The helpline is staffed by specially trained advisors. It is open during business hours (Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm) but includes a facility to call doctors back at the time of their choice.
