The Panel reviewed the order for conditions made on
13 March 2008 and determined that it should be maintained for the remainder of the duration of the order (until 12 September 2009). The conditions are as follows:
- He must not undertake any clinical work involving direct patient care.
- He must notify the GMC promptly of any professional appointment he accepts for which registration with the GMC is required and provide the contact details of his employer.
- He must allow the GMC to exchange information with his employer or any organisation for which he provides medical services.
- He must inform the GMC of any formal disciplinary proceedings taken against him, from the date of this determination.
- He must inform the GMC if he applies for medical employment outside the UK.
- He must inform the following parties that his registration is subject to the conditions, listed at (1 ) to (5 ), above:
- Any organisation or person employing or contracting with him to undertake medical work
- Any locum agency or out-of-hours service he is registered with or apply to be registered with (at the time of application)

The IOP reviewed the order of conditions imposed on 20 December 2007, varied on 3 March 2008. The Panel determined to maintain the order of conditions for the remainder of the duration of the order (until 25 October 2008). The conditions are as follows:
- He must notify the GMC promptly of any professional appointment he accepts for which registration with the GMC is required and provide the contact details of his employer.
- He must allow the GMC to exchange information with his employer or any organisation for which he provides medical services.
- He must inform the GMC of any formal disciplinary proceedings taken against him, from the date of this determination.
- He must inform the GMC if he applies for medical employment outside the UK.
- He should continue to work only if the persons advising the GMC in relation to his fitness to practise so advise;

- He may undertake routine out-patient ophthalmic operative procedures. However, any ophthalmic operative procedures which he undertakes in the surgical theatre must be directly supervised by another consultant ophthalmic surgeon;
- He must maintain a log detailing every surgical procedure that he undertakes in theatre, which must be signed at the time by the supervising consultant;
- He must provide a copy of this log to the GMC prior to any review hearing of this Panel or, alternatively, confirm that there have been no such cases in this period;
- He must provide to the GMC, prior to any review hearing of this Panel, report(s) of his performance by any consultant(s) who supervises his surgical work.
- He must keep his professional commitments under review and limit his medical practice in accordance with the recommendations of the person(s) advising the GMC in relation to his fitness to practise;
- He must cease work immediately if the person(s) advising the GMC in relation to his fitness to practise recommends that he does so;
- He must inform the following parties that his registration is subject to the conditions, listed at (1) to (8), above:
- Any organisation or person employing or contracting with him to undertake medical work
- Any locum agency or out-of-hours service he is registered with or applies to be registered with (at the time of application)
- Any prospective employer (at the time of
- application)
The Panel further directed the Registrar of the GMC that an application should be made to the relevant Court for an extension of the interim order under Section 41A (6) of the Medical Act 1983, as amended.
