The Panel reviewed the order made on 4 July 2006, varied on 1 June 2007, imposing conditions on Dr Elliott’s registration, and directed that the conditions be maintained for the remainder of the duration of the order until 2 January 2009.  The conditions are as follows:

  1. He shall not carry out or interpret any breast imaging. 
  2. He shall not carry out any breast screening assessment or any symptomatic breast assessment.
  3. He shall notify all employers or contractors and all prospective employers or contractors, whether for paid or voluntary employment for which registration with the GMC is required, of conditions 1 to 2 imposed on his registration, and of the matters under consideration by the GMC.  In the case of prospective employers or contractors, this notification must be given at the time of application.
  4. He shall inform, in writing, the IOP Secretariat of the GMC before undertaking any position for which registration is required.

The Panel further directed the Registrar of the GMC that an application should be made to the relevant Court for an extension of the interim order under section 41A (6) of the Medical Act 1883, as amended.

The Panel reviewed the order made on 11 March 2008 imposing conditions on Dr Joachim Brisson’s registration and directed that the conditions be maintained for the remainder of the duration of the order until 10 September 2009. The conditions are as follows:

  1. He must notify the GMC promptly of any professional appointment he accepts for which registration with the GMC is required and provide the contact details of his employer(s).
  2. He must allow the GMC to exchange information with his employer or any organisation for which he provides medical services.
  3. He must inform the GMC of any formal disciplinary proceedings taken against him, from the date of this determination.
  4. He must inform the GMC if he applies for medical employment outside the UK.
    1. He must confine his medical practice to posts as a Foundation Year 1 (F1) / Pre-registration House Officer in a recognised training post, where his work will be supervised by a named medical practitioner of consultant grade.
    2. He must seek a report from his supervisor for consideration by this Panel, prior to any review hearing of this Panel.
  5. He must not work as a locum. 
  6. He must consult a Postgraduate Dean or his / her nominated deputy regarding his future career pathways. 
  7. He must inform the following parties that his registration is subject to the conditions, listed at (1) to (7), above:
    1. Any organisation or person employing or contracting with him to undertake medical work,
    2. Any prospective employer (at the time of application).
