The Panel determined to impose an order of conditions on Dr Tierney’s registration for a period of 18 months. The conditions are as follows:

    1. Except in life threatening emergencies, he must not undertake intimate examinations of patients.
    2. He must maintain a log detailing every case where he has undertaken an intimate examination of any patient in a life-threatening emergency.
    3. He must provide a copy of any such log to the GMC prior to any review hearing of this Panel or, alternatively, confirm that there have been no such cases during that period.
  1. He must notify the GMC promptly of any professional appointment he accepts for which registration with the GMC is required and provide the contact details of his employer.
  2. He must allow the GMC to exchange information with his employer or any organisation for which he provides medical services.
  3. He must inform the GMC of any formal disciplinary proceedings taken against him, from the date of this determination.
  4. He must inform the GMC if he applies for medical employment outside the UK.
  5. He must inform the following parties that his registration is subject to conditions 1 to 5:
    • Any organisation or person employing or contracting with him to undertake medical work.
    • Any prospective employer (at the time of application).
    • Any locum agency he is registered with or applies to be registered with (at the time of application).
    • The PCT in whose Medical Performers List he is included, or seeking inclusion (at the time of application).

The Panel reviewed the order of conditions imposed on Dr Das’ registration on 24 November 2006, and determined that the order should be maintained (currently due to expire on 23 May 2009). The conditions are as follows:

  1. He must notify the GMC promptly of any professional appointment he accepts for which registration with the GMC is required and provide the contact details of his employer andPCT on whose Medical Performers List he is included.
  2. He must allow the GMC to exchange information with his employer or any organisation for which he provides medical services.
  3. He must inform the GMC of any formal disciplinary proceedings taken against him, from the date of this determination.

The Panel reviewed the order of conditions imposed on Dr Ekdawy’s registration on 14 March 2008, and directed that the order should be maintained (currently due to expire on 13 September 2009). The conditions are as follows:

  1. He must notify the GMC promptly of any professional appointment he accepts for which registration with the GMC is required and provide the contact details of his employer.
  2. He must allow the GMC to exchange information with his employer or any organisation for which he provides medical services.
  3. He must inform the GMC of any formal disciplinary proceedings taken against him, from the date of this determination.
