Research tender opportunities

Below is a full list of our current research tender opportunities. You can find full details of each tender on the MyTenders website.

Telemedicine

The GMC is tendering for a project to explore regulators’ approaches to telemedicine. Telemedicine, which is defined as the ‘remote diagnosis and treatment of patients by means of telecommunications technology’, is a growing trend within healthcare.

From a regulatory perspective this is a complex and fast moving area. Constantly developing technologies and a growing public demand for instant access to healthcare are encouraging the development and growth of new forms of telemedicine.

The GMC is keen to better understand how other regulators are approaching this dynamic area, given the complexities involved. It is expected that the 1st stage of the project will involve desk research looking at the published policies of other regulators, followed by interviews with representatives of other regulators to better understand their current policy developments.

The tender process

We usually invite public tenders for research contracts worth over £50,000.

We generally allow four weeks for researchers to submit their bids. We meet with shortlisted researchers to discuss their proposals, usually in our London office. We aim to inform all researchers of the outcome within four weeks of the deadline for bids.

If you would like to receive targeted alerts when we issue research tenders in your area of interest, please complete this contact form (Word) and email it to us at research@gmc-uk.org.
