The General Medical Council (GMC) registers doctors to practice medicine in the UK. Our purpose is to protect, promote and maintain the health and safety of the public by ensuring proper standards in the practice of medicine.

We spend over £40m per year purchasing a variety of goods and services, ranging from IT equipment and facilities management, to research projects and legal services. Many of our requirements are spread across our five UK offices located in London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Cardiff and Belfast.

In January 2009 we began advertising all our significant tender opportunities on this website, with details of current and future procurement activity.

For qualifying Procurements above the EU thresholds Contract notices will also be published in the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) these will be accessible through www.mytenders.co.uk website.
