Getting to our Manchester office

Our Manchester office is based at: 3 Hardman Street, Manchester M3 3AW
We’re open from 8.30 am–5 pm, Monday to Friday.

To make sure we can meet your requirements, please speak to your GMC contact in advance to confirm the arrangements for your visit.

Our office is based in a large, glass-fronted building in the Spinningfields area of Manchester, just off Deansgate.

There are a number of organisations based in the building. A security desk servicing all organisations is on the ground floor of the west side of the building – staff on the security desk can let you up to our reception, or can call to let us know you have arrived.

Fitness to practise hearings are now managed by the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS). View information on contacting the MPTS.

Doctors please note

You can book a visit to our Manchester office using our online service GMC Online (opens in a new window) or by contacting us.

Emergency procedures

The fire alarm is tested every Friday at 9.15 am. If an alarm sounds at any other time, please listen to the instruction from the announcement and wait until you are told to evacuate the building.

Please leave the building by your nearest emergency exit. You can find this by following the emergency exit signs. Once you are outside, please go immediately to our assembly point outside John Ryland’s Library, (on Deansgate).

If you have an impairment that means you can’t hear the alarm or need help to evacuate the building, please tell the person you are visiting. They will make sure that you have a buddy – someone who will make sure that you get safely out of the building in the event of an emergency.

If you or someone around you is injured or unwell and needs first aid, please call reception on 0 using the nearest telephone. If you need an ambulance, please call 999 directly (dial 9 first for an outside line if using our office phones) and immediately tell reception or a member of our Facilities team.
